What is your life?

Life is so short. . . and all that really matters in the end is what we did for the Lord, and for others, as I said in a previous post. . .

I recently received an email about a lady who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. . .she gave a list of things that she would do if she had her life to live over. . . maybe we can learn from her words. . .

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER….

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute, look at it and really see it…live it and never give it back."

Makes you stop and think. . . doesn't it? What memories am I leaving behind? The Bible clearly says that our lives here on earth are nothing but a vapor that appears for a time, and then vanishes away.

Make it count.

A stroll in the park. . . . .

Legacy

Today. . . I had the privilege of playing for the going home service of a man in our community. . . He was a good man, one that loved the Lord with all of his heart, and his family. . .

As I listened to the family share memories of his life, in which the Lord had given him almost 90 years to serve, the one thing that kept being repeated over and over again was that this man was an incredible prayer warrior. . .

He would list every member of his family, church, workplace, and each one of his friends and pray for nearly two hours a day. . . two hours. . . .

He truly strived to serve the Lord, and those around him, he wanted to leave a legacy to his posterity that was coming behind. . . . He wanted to be a light to those around him. . .

There. . . I realized that it is not about what we drive, what we wear, or anything that seems so important in our physical life, not that anything is necessarily wrong with any of those things, as long as we understand that it is really and truly about our relationship with Jesus Christ. . . .
It's about who we really are, and what we are leaving behind, what they will remember about us. . . . .

It's about our legacy, the path that we leave, the light that we shine. . . it's all about others. . .

"Others, Lord yes others, let this my motto be:
Lord, let me live for others, that I may live for Thee."

We love spring!

I must say that we are very excited about the warmer weather that has been coming our way, this has been the longest, coldest, rainiest( if thats a word) winter that I can remember!
Had a fun weekend, basketball game, fun day in Natchitoches, fish fry, church, and wasted the entire day with Bets on Monday. It was awesome! Now, school work beckons . . . . .

Spring has sprung!

It is so pretty outside today! The sun is shining and everything seems to shout Spring! It makes me so happy. I am a spring/summer person. I love the sushine!
Life has been busy as always, trying to get the piano students revved up about the recital in May, which I am extremely nervous about. One of my students played her first offertory in church last night. I was so proud! *grins*
I am trying to get motivated about the mountain of schoolwork that has been piling up. It's not working. It stresses me.
Excited about going to LA camp (for my first time) with Lil, Gen, Bets, and the group. . . Will be fuuuunnn I know!! Ha haaa
Me and Lil reserved our hotel room today :)
Can't believe it's almost April already! Craziness. . . .
Anyway must run! Much to do!
