Small Town Livin' . . . .

You know you live in a small town if. . . .

1. You can name everyone you graduated with.

2. You ever went or thought about going cow-tipping.

3. School gets canceled for a sports team going out of state.

4. You still go home for Homecoming.

5. You had a skip senior day.

6. Your car is always filthy from the dirt backroads.

7. You think kids who ride skateboards are weird.

8. The town right next to you is considered "snotty" when it's just like your town.

9. Getting paid minimum wage is considered a raise.

10. You were excited when you got pipes on your truck for your birthday.

11. On Fridays, anyone you want to find can be found at Main Street or the local restaurants.

12. Weekend excitement involves a trip to Wal-Mart.

13. Even ugly people enter beauty contests.

14. Your teachers call you by your older sibling's name.

15. The closest "cool stores" are at least 45 minutes away.

Sad. . . . but true. *grins*

Spring Fevah!!!

"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is.
And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know
what it is you do want, but it just fairly
makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
~~ Mark Twain ~~

I am so ready for spring and summer, pretty flowers, white skirts, bright colors, camp, and cool sunglasses.

I am officially over snow. . . . give me sunshine, a glass of lemonade, and a pool to relax by!!!

7 signs it's been too cold for too long........................
1. You've had so many 'comfort foods' that a salad sounds appealing.
2. Three words: permanent. hat. head.
3. That snowman out front has stuck around so long, you're thinking of charging him rent.
4. Snow boots are such a staple, you're sure you've forgotten how to walk in heels.
5. You've vowed that the groundhog WILL see his shadow-no matter what. **and he did
6. The weatherman is starting to run out of ways to say "It's cold".
7. You have to beg the dog to go outside.

Our Advocate

This morning. . . . . while in the quiet and still, I opened my Bible and verses that I have known about all of my life just seemed to come alive for me. . . .
I'm telling you. . . . I had a moment.
It was I John chapter 2, and the opening verses read like this. . . .

" My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous :
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep His commandments. "

The first thing that I proceeded to do after reading these verses, was to look up the word advocate, which means supporter or defender. Jesus is our defender! No matter how many times we have failed Him and what we have done, He is our defender! He is our supporter! He is our friend! He will never leave us or or forsake us, no matter how far that we stray. He is not defending the sin, He is defending His precious child.

Then the following verses began to hit home, " and not for our sins only but also, but also for the sins of the whole world."
Wow. That is powerful. The sins of the whole world. The drunk, the rapist, the liar, the theif, the murderer, the cheat. The whole world. There is no one that Jesus can not save. No one that He cannot forgive. No sin that we can commit can keep us from Him, except for the sin of unbelief.

And finally, " And hereby do we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments." If we truly are His child, then we will want to please Him. That doesn't mean that we will never sin, we just will not want to, and when we do, we will feel remorse for our actions. It's kinda like your relationship with your Dad, you want to please him, and when you do something that displeases him, you do everything that you can to make it right.

As a child of the most High God we will want to serve and worship Him with all of our being. We will want to learn everything we can about the Word and the glorious gospel of our soon coming King.

I just simply had to share what the Lord showed me this morning. . . . thankful that He still works in my heart.

Have a great day loves!
